PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell such that an intermittent interface is not formed on a proton conducting route, and a method for manufacturing the fuel cell. SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1 is comprised of a fuel electrode side electrode 10, an ion exchange membrane 20 and an oxygen electrode side electrode 30. An electrode material comprising the fuel electrode side electrode 10 and the oxygen electrode side electrode 30 is comprised of a porous carbon. A solution containing a proton conductor is impregnated with the porous matter. The ion exchange membrane 20 is comprised by impregnating the proton conductor with the base body of the porous matter. Before the solution of the oxygen electrode 30 containing the proton conductor dries and solidifies, the proton conductor of the ion exchange membrane 20 and the oxygen electrode 30 is integrated. Therefore, the proton conductor of the oxygen electrode 30 and the proton conductor of the ion exchange membrane 20 are continuously integrated. |
