PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for managing production, with which cost information can be exactly described on a production drawing without human intervention. SOLUTION: A production managing database 2 stores cost information and selling price information corresponding to production drawing data. On the basis of inputted drawing attribute information, a product information retrieving part 1 reads the relevant cost information and selling price information out of the production managing database 2. A comparing and calculating part 3 compares such read cost information and selling price information and on the basis of this compared result, a cost reduction target deciding part 4 decides whether a product to be produced by the production drawing data corresponding to the drawing attribute information is a cost reduction target or not. A production drawing retrieving part 6 adds this decided result to production drawing data read out of a production drawing file 7 and outputs these data.
