PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved type constitution to fix a floating vapor shield in a vacuum interrupter and its method. SOLUTION: A circumferential groove 33 is provided on an inner surface of a ceramic pipe, a split ring 35 is installed in this circumferential groove and a flange 43 fixed on an outer surface of the tubular shield 25 and the split ring are fixed by melting a braze ring 55 wedged in between the flange and the shield outer surface.
