PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver that enables a user to view the contents of a short message of a mobile phone on the large-sized screen of the receiver, in an easy to view manner. SOLUTION: The television receiver consists of a television receiver function section 10, a mobile phone function section 30, and a control section 50. The mobile phone function section 30 and the control section 50 are active in a standby state. At the application of power to the television receiver, when the mobile phone function section 30 receives a short message, the control section 50 outputs its ringer tone, causes an LED 65 to flash on and off and displays the message on the television screen 17 by means of scrolling. At the interruption of power from the television receiver, when the mobile phone function section 30 receives a short message, the control section 50 outputs its ringer tone, causes the LED 65 to flash on and off and stores the message to a message memory 56. In this case, the LED 65 is made to flash on and off until power is applied to the television receiver, and when the user turns on the power, the control section 50 displays the stored message by means of scrolling. |
