PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna which can shorten the physical length ofλ/4 element functioning as a matching circuit, and make the matching characteristics of this element broad in band. SOLUTION: This antenna comprises a casing, a feed point arranged on the casing, a linear element whose physical length from the feed point is less than the quarter wavelength, a half-wavelength antenna element connected to the tip of the linear element, and an interface between the linear element and the half-wavelength antenna element in it. It also comprises a metal conductor positioned in the proximity of one side of the casing. The linear element has the first part which extends parallel to one side of the casing and from the feed point toward the first direction which is reverse to the half-wavelength antenna element, and the second part which extends parallel to one side of the casing similarly and toward the same second direction as the direction toward which the half-wavelength antenna element extends. The interface between the linear element and the half-wavelength antenna element is positioned closer to the first direction than the feed point.
