PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cleaner for giving the satisfied cleaning effect over the extremely long period, such as having almost no break nor chipping on the scraping part removing the dust and also hardly wearing in the sliding movement with a running magnetic tape. SOLUTION: At least the scraping part 3 of the tape cleaner 1 is formed of sapphire, and the shape of this scraping part 3 is constituted of two flat surfaces 4, 5 arranged to the nearly V shape and a tip surface 6 provided on tips of them, then the width of this tip surface 6 is set to 1μm-3μm, and also the above two flat surfaces 4, 5 are respectively formed on the A surface of the sapphire.
