PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a magnet in common for a driver and for a sensor by making the magnet movable and a driving coil stationary, preventing stresses from being applied to the electrodes of the coil and wire rods for the electrodes, and detecting the movement of the magnet by a sensor coil. SOLUTION: This linear actuator has a magnetic substance (magnet) 1 as a movable substance, and a bobbin 4 as a stationary substance, which covers the magnetic substance 1 and has a driving coil 5 for driving the magnetic substance 1. Current is caused to flow in the coil 5, and the magnetic substance 1 is reciprocated inside the bobbin 4 in the axial direction. The magnetic substance 1 has, at its both ends or one end, fulcrum boards 2 which are larger than the diameter of the magnetic substance 1 and supported by the internal wall of the bobbin 4, and has a shaft 3 which is made from resin, etc., and integrated, and extends from one end part of the magnetic substance in the axial direction. A tip of the shaft 3 has a linking part 3a, to which a substance to be driven is linked, and to this linking part 3a the substance to be driven is linked. A sensor coil 6 detects the movement of the magnetic substance 1.
