PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring notice method and system that enables a user to surely grasp a fault in a monitored place anywhere. SOLUTION: When a sensor 18 senses a fault in a monitored place and outputs an electric signal, a camera apparatus 20 photographs the monitored place, outputs image data and a 2nd communication terminal 22 transmits the image data from the camera 20 to a monitoring server unit 4 through a communication channel. An image data reception means 36 of the monitoring server unit 4 receives the image data and an image data transmission means 32 stores the received image data into a storage device. A mail transmission means 34, on the other hand, transmits an electronic mail including information required to acquire the image data from the storage device and to notify of the occurrence of the fault and addressed to a user of a 1st communication terminal 10 to a mail server unit 8. The user uses the 1st communication terminal 10 to receive the electronic mail and to recognize the occurrence of the fault, acquires the image data through the image data transmission means 32 on the basis of the information included in the electronic mail and displays the image data.
