<p>The invention relates to a sleeve-type bearing element (8) for the piston rod (4) of an engine cylinder (1) and to an engine cylinder (1) equipped with such a bearing element (8). The bearing element (8), when mounted, is located in a housing passage (6), coaxially enclosing the piston rod (4). The bearing element comprises a guide bush (12) as well as a wiper ring (14) and a seal (17). In the area of the guide bush (12), the bearing element (8) bulges in the shape of a barrel, said shape allowing the guide bush (12) to adapt its position to the direction of the piston rod (4) extending therethrough by tilting relative to the housing (2).</p> |
