<p>An apparatus (10) for applying electronic treatment comprises a controller (18) and switch (16) which control an output from a current source (14) applied to a patient. A memory (20) stores a number of treatment loaded in a one-time procedure from a smart card (28). Control can thus be maintained over the patient's usage of the apparatus. The switch (16) comprises an electronically-controllable switch. The controlled is also arranged, at least in some embodiments, to disable the apparatus for a predetermined period between usages.</p> |
