Production of double walled pipes made of steel comprise winding a metal strip using a pre-calibrated mill stand and a calibrated mill stand (4) with a float (5) axially moving on the rolling axis. The metal strip winding is adjusted to the rolling axis axially and/or rotational symmetrically using side and/or height adjustment of the calibrated mill stand. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the production of double walled pipes. Preferred Features: The metal strip winding is adjusted horizontally, vertically and/or across the rolling axis. Only the upper roller of the calibrated mill stand is adjusted.
