Method for testing and adjusting a motor vehicle engine (1, 2, 24) using a starter-generator (5) coupled to the crankshaft (3). The engine is transported on a pallet (4) that doubles as a test-bed with the engine set in rotation using the starter-generator. While the engine is rotating operating values and adjustment values are determined and actuators set appropriately. The invention also relates to an engine transport pallet and a use of the test method for testing and adjusting a motor vehicle engine and gear-box.
