<p>A chair control providing both articulating tilt motion and dual-ratio, adjustable, synchronized tilt motion. In a first aspect, the control can be configured as either an articulating tilt control or a synchronized tilt control. In a second aspect, the angle between the seat (14) and the backrest (12) may be selected by the user when the control is configured for either the articulating mode or the synchronized mode. In a third aspect, when in the synchronized mode, the angle between the seat (14) and the backrest (12) increases during forward tilt action to avoid 'clam shelling.' In a fourth aspect, a forward tilt selector (90, 92) enables or prohibits forward tilting of the chair.</p> |
