<p>A temperature control system (300) for a source of electromagnetic radiation (301), in a collecting and condensing system (307) including a first reflector (303a) having a first focal point (304) and a second reflector (303b) having a second focal point (305). The source (301) may be located proximate to the first focal point (304) of the first reflector (303a) to produce rays of radiation that reflect from the first reflector (303a) toward the second reflector (303b) and substantially converge at the second focal point (305). A sensor (306), may be placed near the source (301), and produces an output (307) which may be substantially proportional to an attribute of the source (301). A comparator (308) compares the output (307) to a predetermined value (309) and produces a difference (310) between the output (307) and the predetermined value (309). A fan (311) placed proximate to the source (301) has an air flow to cool the source (301) which may be substantially proportional to the difference (310) between the output (307) and the predetermined value (309) if the output is greater than the predetermined value (309). The temperature control system (33) may also include a heater (313) placed near the source (301). In this case the comparator (300) compares the output (307) to a second predetermined value (315), producing a second difference (314) between the output (307) and the second predetermined value (315), and the heat flux may be substantially proportional to the second difference (314) if the output (307) is less than the second predetermined value (315).</p> |
