APPARATUS TO DETERMINE OXYGEN LEVEL IN INK

An apparatus (A) for determining the oxygen level of degassed water-based ink-jet ink includes a vacuum chamber (20) for degassing the ink. The ink-jet tank (10) is placed within the chamber. A flow cell (50) is connected to the chamber. The degassed ink is circulated to the flow cell which measures the oxygen content via an oxygen probe (60). A meter (70) measures the oxygen level. The ink is circulated back to the ink-jet tank and removed from the chamber or subjected to additional vacuum if needed to obtain a pre-determined oxygen level.
