A flashless floor mat (24) or product and method are provided. At least one embodiment of this invention relates to a flashless cushioned dust control m at (24) article wherein the mat (24) comprises at least two distinct layers of rubber, one comprising foam rubber (14), the other comprising solid rubber (16). The solid rubber layer (16) is present over the foam rubber layer (14) on the side of the mat in which at least one integrated rubber protrusion (2 6) is present to provide cushioning characteristics. The solid rubber layer (16 ) acts as a cap or barrier for the foam rubber layer (14), particularly over t he integrated protrusion (26) or protrusions (26), in order to provide a mat (2 4) which is resilient, will not easily degrade in its modulus strength after appreciable use and/or washing within industrial cleaning processes, and wil l not exhibit appreciable cracking or breaking, particularly within the integrated protrusion(s) (26), after standard use for pedestrian traffic. A method of producing such an inventive cushioned floor mat (24) article is al so provided. |
