The wall construction unit, to form enclosed rooms and also act as a wall cladding, has thin outer facing plates (1,1') with a thermal insulation filling (3) in the gap (2) between them. The thermal insulation is composed of a number of shaped bodies (4) as tiles, of bonded and non-combustible perlite particles. They are bonded to the facing plates with a fireproof adhesive to form expansion joints (5).
