In a process to convert farm animal slurry into fertilizer, the slurry mixture of liquids and solids is enriched with an oxidant and is then subjected to mechanical and/or thermal treatment resulting in the separation of solids from liquids. An Independent claim is also for an assembly with a mixer container with an incoming feed pipe discharging oxygen at above ambient pressure into the mixing slurry. The mixer paddles are rotated either by an electric motor or a magnetic field drive. The oxygen-enriched slurry is separated into solid and liquid components in either a centrifuge or preferably a helical decanter. The liquid component is then subjected to ultra-filtration and further concentrated. Alternatively separation is effected by reverse osmosis. The solid phase is surrendered to a mixer in which nitrogen and/or phosphorous and/or potassium are introduced. The resulting mixture is converted to fertilizer pellets which are then dried and bagged.
