The height setting device has a locking bar with locking points and a coupling can. To adjust the height, with no weight on the saddle so that it springs up, the switching part (2) is raised and disengaged. The setting lever (6) can now be turned to release the coupling cam. The rider can then mount the bicycle and adjust the seat as required, turning the saddle to its normal position to lock the new height.
