So that in at least one specified drive situation, the conversion of the size of the braking desire and/or its alteration in to an operation of the adjusting unit is limited. The specified driving situation is the standstill of the vehicle. In a standstill of the vehicle, the brake pressure or the brake power is limited to a specified value.
