The transmission system uses a transmitter in a network node transceiver (12) for diffuse radiation of light signals containing information received from a data network, a receiver within a subscriber transceiver (14) for reception of the light signals and a transmitter within the subscriber transceiver for transmitting the received information to an information processing terminal. A further receiver within the subscriber transceiver provides information representing the received light signal intensity and a second transmitter within the subscriber transceiver is used for transmission of a directional light beam containing information provided by the information processing terminal to the network node transceiver, which feeds the information to the data network.
