The invention concerns a method for inhibiting, at least partly, the formation of dioxins in fumes derived from iron ore sintering process which consists in injecting, beneath the sinter bed, a substance inhibiting the formation of dioxins in fumes extracted from the sinter plant, in one or several air-boxes located beneath the grid. The inhibiting substance(s) is/are injected in an aqueous solution in spray form and said injection is carried out in the direction opposite to the flow direction of the fumes captured by the air-boxes. The injection conditions are adjusted such that the injected substance(s) are distributed in the entire volume of the air-box. Monoethanolamine (MEA) and triethanolamine (TEA) are used as substances inhibiting dioxin formation. |
