The invention relates to a high-pressure line for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine. The inside diameter (5) of the line varies in the direction of flow, so that the pressure waves that pass through the high-pressure line (1), e.g. from the injector, in the direction of a common rail, are partially reflected on the resulting steps (13). The partial reflection of the pressure waves reduces the temporal pressure fluctuations that are caused by the pressure waves at the injector or even completely eliminates these fluctuations through interference effects. This enables fuel to be metered more accurately, so that the running and consumption characteristics of the internal combustion engine equipped with the inventive high-pressure line (1) are improved. |
