<p>The software system of the present invention is a distributed object-oriented software system (Fig 1) that it is customizable and flexible enough to implement a wide variety of different 'business logics' without the need to rewrite the basic components of the software system because it provides scripting capability in a distributed object oriented software system. The present invention includes a rules-based scripting language (1218) that can be interpreted by a Rules Engine (1212) that is part of the base class of component (1208) for the software system. In accordance with the present invention each individual component of the software system may have one or more predetermined rule sets defined for it. Each predetermined rule set allows customization of the behavior of the associated component of the software system.</p> |
