A projection region of interest (PA) to constitute the X-ray CT image of an object of imaging is set on a plane section (CP) comprised of 3-D X-ray absorption coefficient data and having a specified thickness in a direction perpendicular to an irradiation plane obtained by the rotation of X-ray irradiation to thereby display a projection image obtained by projecting 3-D X-ray absorption coefficient data within the projection region of interest (PA) onto a projection plane (TP) crossing an X-ray irradiation direction (RD).
