The invention relates to a die casting method involving the use of an injection piston during shooting, according to which a filling bush (5; 5a; 5.1-5.8) extending along a longitudinal axis (A) moves inside its cavity of the injection piston (11; 11.1, 11.2) during shooting along said longitudinal axis (A). The temperature over the metal cross-section is held essentially constant. To this end, at least one of the following measures a) to c) is carried out: a) at least the main part of the injection piston (11; 11.1, 11.2) and the filling bush (5; 5a; 5.1-5.8) are provided as parts that can be separated from one another, and; a') the filling bush (5; 5a; 5.1-5.8) is used as a pouring ladle when it is separate from said part of the injection piston (11; 11.1, 11.2), and the melt is prevented from flowing out in an axial direction by using at least one shut-off (15 or 16) situated transversal to the longitudinal axis (A), whereupon; a ) the injection piston (11; 11.1, 11.2) is placed at the end of the filling bush (5; 5a; 5.1-5.8), which is filled in the aforementioned manner, and the shut-off (15, 16) is removed, whereas the other end is placed on the injection channel part (9; 9a); b) a portion of a temperature regulating device (24a) is accommodated inside a space (12b; 12c), which is connected to the filling bush (5), as to also regulate the temperature at least over a portion of the cross-section, and; c) in order to prevent a large drop in temperature over the periphery of the cross-section, the cavity of the filling bush comprises a lining, which is made of a ceramic material (30) and to which at least one temperature regulating device (27, 28) that is preferably controlled as to minimize stresses in the ceramic material and/or at least one oscillation device (32) are/is assigned.
