摘要 This invention relates generally to the field of prognosis and diagnosis of vasculopathy and certain tumors. In particular, the invention provides a method for prognosing or diagnosing vasculopathy, neuroectodermal tumor, epithelial tumor, myelomonocytic tumor or lymphoid tumor in a mammal, which method comprises: a) assessing a NCAM L1 protein or a derivative or fragment thereof, or a mRNA encoding said NCAM L1 protein or a derivative or fragment thereof, in a mammal having or suspected of having vasculopathy, neuroectodermal tumor, epithelial tumor, lymphoid tumor or myelomonocytic tumor; b) assessing a NCAM L1 protein or a derivative or fragment thereof, o r a mRNA encoding said NCAM L1 protein or a derivative or fragment thereof, in a mammal not having said vasculopathy, neuroectodermal tumor, epithelial tumor , lymphoid tumor or myelomonocytic tumor; c) comparing the presence or quantit y of said NCAM L1 protein or mRNA assessed in steps a) and b), whereby said NC AM L1 protein or mRNA assessed in step a) is more than that assessed in step b) indicates the presence of said vasculopathy, neuroectodermal tumor, epitheli al tumor, lymphoid tumor or myelomonocytic tumor in said mammal. The method can also be used for monitoring the effectiveness of the treatment of the vasculopathy, neuroectodermal tumor, epithelial tumor, lymphoid tumor or myelomonocytic tumor.
