PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt angle detecting device capable of having a simple structure, being inexpensively manufactured, and improving detection accuracy. SOLUTION: In this tilt angle detecting device for detecting a rocking angle of a tilt cylinder 30 tilting a mast 40 of a forklift truck, a potentiometer detecting the displacement amount of parts 30a, 30c integrally rocking with the tilt cylinder 30 is provided. The potentiometer is a rotating type potentiometer 50, and has an abutting portion rotatably or slidably abutting on the parts 30a, 30c integrally rocking with the tilt cylinder 30, at a tip end portion of a lever attached to an input shaft thereof. The potentiometer may be a direct- acting potentiometer 51.
