PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transport various sheets having different widths smoothly without causing a damage and simplify its constitution. SOLUTION: A guide mechanism 72 is equipped with a shaft member 82 extending across the width which crosses the transporting direction of a storage phosphor sheet S, a first 84a and a second movable roller member 84b to make contact with the phosphor sheet S and movable in the axial direction relative to the shaft member 82, and a drive mechanism 86 to move the roller members 84a and 84b in the axial direction in accordance with the width of the sheet S.
