PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a waveform measuring apparatus which can always grasp the positional relation between the whole waveform and a matching part, when the part which matches a retrieval pattern is detected from waveform data stored in a memory and is enlarged and displayed. SOLUTION: This instrument is provided with a means, which detects the part matching the retrieval pattern from the waveform data stored in the memory, a means which reads waveform data, including the part matching the retrieval pattern out of the memory according to the detection result and discriminatingly displays the waveform part which matches the retrieval pattern, and a means which magnifies and displays the waveform of the pattern matching part at a set magnification.
