PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position the input shaft of a double cavity toroidal continuously variable transmission in the axial direction, to prevent a load from being transmitted to a casing from the input shaft, and to prevent the loads applied to power rollers stored in a pair of cavities from being unbalanced. SOLUTION: One input disk 62 is fixed to the input shaft 13, and the other input disk 62 and an output disk 63 are axially movably supported. The other input disk 62 is excited toward one input disk 62 by a cylinder 71, and the power rollers 66 stored in a pair of cavities abut on the input disks 62 and output disks 63. The axial displacement of the input shaft 13 is allowed, the axial displacement of an output shaft 14 is regulated, and a driving gear 25 provided on the output disks 63 and a driven gear 23 provided on the output shaft 14 are formed with a double helical gear. |
