PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and size of an insertion handling tool for fuel assembly. SOLUTION: In this insertion handling tool for fuel assembly provided, in a tool top part, with an operation part built in with a wire drum 3 for suspending an insertion grasping part via a wire 2 to be movable vertically, a motor 4 for rotating the drum 3, and the like, the wire drum 3 and the motor 4 of the operation part are arranged to be brought just above the wire 2 coming down vertically from the center of the insertion grasping part, and the whole of the tool is suspended vertically without using a balance weight.
