PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new glass composition having characteristics such as photoabsorption/emission, high refractive index, excellent transparency, etc., preferably utilizable as a material for a photo-emitter of a display and an illumination utensil or a material for optical parts such as an optical guide. SOLUTION: This glass composition comprises an amorphous matrix mainly composed of metal element to oxygen bond in which ultra-fine particles of a semiconductor are uniformly dispersed, the heat loss in air being 10 to 80 wt.%. |
