PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such inconvenience that water flowing down in a gutter pipe is jumped out from drainage windows to scatter and that a turbulent flow results from absorbing a great volume of air from the drainage windows to block the capacity of a watercourse in the gutter pipe in a transfer type roof drain such as balcony or the like. SOLUTION: The transfer type roof drain is so constituted that covering plates 10 located at the outside of a drum section 7 for a strainer body 3 and covering opening sections in a group of drainage windows 6 are erected, at the same time, the covering plates 10 have clearance spaces 13 between the drum section 7 and the circumference, a bent channel R for connecting the inside and outside of the strainer body 3 is constituted of a space 12 between the covering plates 10 adjacent to each other and each of the clearance spaces 13, the water flowing down in the gutter pipe is prevented from being jumped out from the drainage windows 6 to scatter and, at the same time, that air absorption resistance to the inside of the strainer body 3 is increased by the bent channel R to accelerate a laminar flow inside of the gutter pipe 8B.
