PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent luminous fibers maintaining a color of pure whiteness required for the fibers in the daytime or under illumination and emitting light with high brightness in the dark. SOLUTION: The luminous fibers comprise 1-15 wt.% of a luminous substance prepared by doping strontium aluminate with a rare earth and a fluorescent brightener.
