PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that coke strength decreases when non-slightly caking coal having a low carbonization degree is added to obtain a high reactivity, by compounding a suitable amount of highly expansible coal having a high carbonization degree; and to provide a method for improving the reactivity of coke without degrading coke strength. SOLUTION: In this coal blending method for producing high-strength high- reactivity coke, coal for coke making is divided according to the carbonization degree; from the coal for coke making divided as above, at least high- carbonization coal and low-carbonization coal are selected and blended with each other, each in a suitable amount; and simultaneously the blending ratio is adjusted.
