PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cast steel product capable of reducing tortoise-shell crack as little as possible by adjusting the chemical components in the steel material. SOLUTION: The production method of the cast steel product has the point, in which molten steel having >=1.5 mass% total content of Ni, Cr, Mo and V and <=0.020 mass% Al, or that having <1.5 mass% (containing 0) total content of Ni, Cr, Mo and V and <=0.026 mass% Al, is used.
