PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction product containing a metal salt-containing vinylic monomer which contains the metal salt in a relatively high concentration and has been produced without using a solubilizing agent. SOLUTION: This reaction product characterized by containing a metal salt-having vinylic monomer obtained by reacting in a solvent a metal compound with a mixture of two or more unsaturated acids selected from the group of unsaturated acids consisting of the mono[alkylene glycol (meth)acrylate] esters of phthalic acid which may have one or more substituents on the aromatic ring and whose aromatic ring may be hydrogenated. The solvent is preferably a vinylic monomer.
