PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which removes the problem that in a system for effecting defrosting with a glass tube type heater situated right below a cooler, it is brought into a local heating state, a refrigerating chamber temperature is increased by defrosting operation, and the problem that a wall made of a synthetic resin at the peripheral part of the heater is protected arises, but when the system to effect defrosting forms a defrosting system by a glass tube type heater control, control which is preferable from the viewpoint of maintenance of the cooling temperature of a food storage chamber can be achieved, local heating of the cooler by the heater can be reduced, and further, to provide the refrigerator which is preferable from the viewpoint of protection of a wall made of the synthetic resin of the peripheral part of the heater. SOLUTION: The refrigerator is formed that in a cooling mode, cold air cooled by a cooler is circulated to a food storage chamber by a blower for cooling the interior of the food storage chamber into a given temperature range, and in a defrosting mode, by applying energization on an electric heater situated for heating the cooler, defrosting of the cooler is effected. In the refrigerator, an arts means to control energization to the heater for defrosting and operation of the blower in a defrosting mode, in the relation with the cooling control temperature of the food storage chamber being employed in the defrosting mode.
