摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling compensation to be made by diagnosing a change in the flow rate of gas passing through an exhaust gas return pipe. SOLUTION: A correction has to be made by diagnosing the change of the flow rate of the gas passing through the exhaust gas return pipe of an internal combustion engine. Accordingly, the first method allows the first flow rate of the gas passing through the return pipe to be derived depending on a valve position and the flow characteristic curve of an exhaust gas return valve, and the second method allows the second flow rate to be derived depending on the flow rate of fresh air within a suction pipe and suction pipe pressure. This brings about the detection of a deviation between both of the flow rates derived by the first and second methods, and the deviation brings about the formation of at least one correction of the first flow rate derived depending on the valve position and the flow characteristic curve.
