PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the conventional constitution that carbon monoxide and unburned gas are generated in a stationary state, because an excess air ratio is set to be 0.9-1.0 in order to form easily a flame at the time of ignition. SOLUTION: An ignition heater 32 is provided in the vicinity of a combustion catalyst 21, so that a heat quantity generated by the heater 32 is efficiently transferred to the catalyst 21, and a catalytic combustion can be started without forming a flame. Excess air ratio is set higher to constitute the equipment of catalytic combustion of a simple constitution without generation of carbon monoxide and unburned gas.
