PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a silver halide photosensitive material having ability for rapid processing, even at a rather low temperature, showing proper sharpness and high sensitivity, and having proper running stability. SOLUTION: In the method for processing a silver halide photosensitive material, at least one layer of silver halide emulsion layers or at least one hydrophilic colloid layer, adjacent to the silver halide emulsion layers contains an amine compound, having >=1 for log P and does not substantially contain a nucleus-forming agent. The photosensitive material is processed, while replenishing the developer with a development replenisher prepared from a solid developer which contains an ascorbic acid compound as the developing agent.
