PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily detect cloggings or foldings inside gas pipes. SOLUTION: There are provided a shutter part 20 which includes a shutter fitted to seal tightly the opening part of the gas pipe 16 and opens/closes to shut the opening part from the outside air, and a sonic investigating apparatus body, including a pair of microphones 15 which are set to the shutter part 20 to seal tightly the shutter part and enter in opposite directions in the gas pipe 16, and a speaker 12 for generating sound waves 13 inside the pipe. The sonic investigating apparatus generates sound waves in the pipe and measures the state of the clogging or folding inside the pipe by the sound waves.
