PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker wherein cooking time is short with reduced scorching to ensure nice cooking similarly to the cooking with charcoal fire, and which emits less smoke, and further the contamination of a heat source due to released substances from an article to be cooked is prevented. SOLUTION: The cooker is provided with an infrared electric lamp 21 that includes a flat plate shaped heater 22 formed with a sintered structure involving carbon substances and that is mounted at a lower portion from an article 3 to be cooked and on outer opposite sides of a cooking area. The cooker is further provided with a reflection plate 23 for effectively irradiating an article with radiation light from the foregoing infrared ray electric lamp in the direction of the article, and a transparent heat resisting glass plate 28 located between the cooking area and the infrared ray electric lamp.
