PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the outside dimension of a whole centrifugal governor by reducing the containing space of a governor spring by shortening a governing operation maximum displacement amount of a governor spring. SOLUTION: A governor spring 3 consists of a pitch coil spring 6, such as a tensile cylinder, and a spring extension amount regulating tool 7. The spring extension amount regulating tool 7 regulates an extension amount of a spring part 6A for constraint being a part of the overall length of a pitch coil spring 6, such as a tensile cylinder, but not regulates extension of the pitch coil spring 6, such as a tensile cylinder, in a low displacement amount region of the governor spring 3 and continues regulation of its expansion in a high displacement amount region.
