METHOD FOR FILLING POLYMER IN HOLLOW FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filling a polymer in hollow fibers by which the polymer containing a functional imparting agent such as a tree extract is efficiently filled in gaps of the hollow fibers, functions are sufficiently exhibited while maintaining a feeling of the hollow fibers and the durability thereof is remarkably improved. SOLUTION: A monomer solution is filled through communicating holes in the hollow parts of the hollow fibers scattered with the communicating holes from the fiber surfaces to the hollow parts on the fiber surfaces in a steam atmosphere at 95-105 deg.C temperature under atmospheric pressure while carrying out heat treatment. The monomer solution remaining on the fiber surfaces is then removed by blowing a gas or sucking the monomer solution. A polymerization initiator is subsequently applied to the hollow fibers and the resultant hollow fibers are allowed to stand at normal temperature. Only the monomer present in the hollow parts is then selectively polymerized.
