PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice storage system for cooling system and its heat exchange unit capable of effecting thermal storage operation to properly cool brine by accurately discriminating full ice and ice melting in a thermal storage tank and properly cooling brine. SOLUTION: The ice storage system comprises a control device 50 to execute thermal storage operation by feeding a refrigerant to a heat exchanger 11 for superheating on the refrigeration side for evaporation; and a temperature sensor 29 to detect the temperature of brine flowing in the heat exchanger 11 for supercooling on the refrigeration side. The control device 50 stops thermal storage operation when the temperature of brine detected by the temperature sensor 29 is reduced to a specified freezing completion temperature.
