PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating machine abnormal sound diagnosis processing technique for accurately diagnosing abnormal sound at a high processing speed without using any complicated algorithm. SOLUTION: In this rotating machine abnormal sound diagnosis processing technique for diagnosing abnormal sound in a rotating machine such as a roller used in a conveyor, rotating machine sound is collected along the conveyor and the like by means of a microphone in a portable diagnosing device, and a raw waveform of the collected rotating machine sound is dissolved into a frequency and a time-series spectrum of a sound pressure level at every predetermined time. At the same time, an abnormal sound constituent is extracted, and a measured abnormal sound spectrum pattern is formed from the abnormal sound constituent. On the other hand, a group selection data of a patterned abnormal sound occurrence frequency and a registered abnormal sound type are formed previously, and abnormal sound diagnosis is carried out by pattern matching between the measured abnormal sound spectrum pattern and the group selection data.
