METHOD FOR DEPHOSPHORIZING MOLTEN IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dephosphorizing molten iron by which the sticking and the growth of slag on the inner surface of refractory at a free- board part in a reaction vessel are restrained. SOLUTION: In the dephosphorizing treatment of the molten iron performed by using a dephosphorizing agent >=25 mass% of the total CaO of which is replaced with CaO in the converter slag and an oxidizing agent, the liquid-phase ratio of the slag in the reaction vessel is held to <=45 mass% or >=80 mass% at least in a period of >=80% for performing the dephosphorizing treatment.
