MISERICORD TYPE SEAT

The invention relates to a misericord-type seat comprising a supporting part (9) that is articulated at the front end (11) of a tilting seat (2) around an axis (10) that is substantially parallel to said end (11). The supporting part (9) can move, while the seat (2) is pulled down and placed against a support, between a rest position and an active position wherein it supports the buttocks of the user. The inventive seat also comprises means for locking the supporting part in an active position. Said means can be automatically activated by activating means when the user presses on the supporting part.
